In the summer of 2014 Billingsley Company formed a new corporate entity, Billingsley Construction, Inc. The company’s strategic growth includes development of over 3,000 new multi-family units in 2014 and 2015.
“Creating a construction arm in-house makes perfect sense for our growth strategy in the multi-family sector of our business,” said Lucy Billingsley, Partner. “Becoming our own general contractor allows us to eliminate third-party fees and we can roll savings in to the quality of the product.” Billingsley Company selected Brian Maynor to lead the Billingsley Construction, Inc. team. Maynor will lead multi-family construction for Billingsley’s developments throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
“Billingsley Company is unique in the multi-family development world,” says Maynor, Vice President of Construction. “Their focus is on high-quality design, creating a meaningful community, and providing exceptional service to tenants.” Maynor adds, “no one else builds like Billingsley. They have a great eye for design and clearly have a passion for strategic planning. Their award-winning projects are a testament to that.”
Maynor has over 14 years of construction management experience. A graduate of the University of Louisiana at Monroe, he worked for large multi-family developers JPI and Alliance Residential. The many relationships that Maynor has established over his 10 years of working in Dallas will be an advantage in recruiting his team of 15-25 individuals for the office and the field.
Billingsley will break ground late summer 2014 on 113 new townhomes at Billingsley’s 1000-acre Cypress Waters development with an expected delivery for Spring of 2015. Billingsley’s newest multi-family community at Austin Ranch is well under way with the first phase of the 1,400-unit Lake District, named The Boat House, equaling 526 units delivering early 2015. The second phase will consist of 900 units and will break ground in the first quarter of 2015.
Billingsley is also breaking ground on multi-family units at their newest master planned community, Mercer Business Park. Branded The Brickyard, this community will total over 900 units and will be built in two phases.
Why so bullish on multi-family construction? Billingsley is capitalizing on the red-hot corporate relocation market. “Demand is at an all-time high and we’ve got the land and vision to meet that demand,” said Lucilo Pena, President of Development. “We’re offering a great package for companies that are looking at Dallas — a great community where they can build the campus of their dreams and provide their employees with high-quality housing nearby.”
