ORTHOFIX RELOCATES ITS MCKINNEY FACILITY
TO AUSTIN RANCH MASTER PLANNED DEVELOPMENT
(DALLAS, Texas) April 22, 2009 — Billingsley Company today announced that Orthofix, Inc. will relocate its McKinney facility to Austin Ranch, a 1,900-acre master-planned community in North Texas. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for April 21, 2009 with Orthofix employees and local dignitaries expected to attend. Billingsley Company is the developer handling this build-to-suit.
Orthofix Inc.’s new facility will be located in Lewisville, Texas, the northern section of Austin Ranch along Plano Parkway just south of State Highway 121. It will contain 144,000 sq. ft. that will be utilized for manufacturing, warehouse space, and office space, including the state-of-the-art Orthofix National Education Center.
“The professional corporate campus feel is what drove Orthofix to Austin Ranch. They are the fifth corporation to relocate here, and will join other notable businesses including BeautiControl, Edward Don, Sysco Foods, and The Apparel Group, says Carter Crow, Vice President of Leasing, Billingsley Company. Crow, and Chris Mason, Senior Vice President, Jackson Cooksey, brokered the transaction.
Austin Ranch is a lifestyle-focused community located within the cities of The Colony, Lewisville, Carrollton and Plano. It includes corporate campus sites, commercial office, multi-family, single family residential, retail, and tech/flex sites. The master plan calls for 700 acres of corporate campuses and 200 acres of build-to-suit offices and office parks. Ultimately, it will contain 1.6 million square feet of office space.
In addition, Austin Ranch is one of the EPA’s Green Power partners and emphasizes green initiatives that protect and preserve the surrounding rolling hills, trees, lakes and beautiful vistas. When fully complete, Austin Ranch will house approximately 25,000 residents and 43,000 employees.
